Requirements, and application
Our next membership meeting is
Tuesday, March 10, 7:00pm, at Hidden Cypress. Our guest
speaker is Dr. Robert Lisle on the topic "Photography in
the Civil War." The competition theme is "Motion."
The subject of your image needs to show that it is moving either by
stopping the motion of your subject with the surrounding image
showing motion or by having your subject moving with the
surrounding image remaining stationary. Very high speed motion
can also be stopped using high shutter speed or electronic flash.
Participants are reminded
of the mandatory requirement to submit their image files in
"Competition Guidelines" for complete requirements.
Classes for the winter term are

A new studio exhibit “From
Your Perspective" is now hanging in The Studio. We have hung 33
photos on the Gallery Walls that are from ingenious to whimsical. Burt
Ensmann’s entry is titled, “ Down Under-Outback”; it is a mixed-media, a
photograph taken in Australia and printed on canvas with an attached
tribal boomerang. On the Fieldtrip Wall there are eight photos that
will motivate & energize us to go, visit and photograph the beautiful
wonders of our local surroundings. When you want to be motivated to
enter the next exhibit, come take a look at all of these inspirited and
A special thank you to all 31 of our
Photography Club Members who so graciously contributed their works of
art to this exhibit, and to Nancy Hoff and her crew for putting it

Over the past few
months we've heard much about an exhibit being put together by the
Club for display at the Port Royal Sound Maritime Center on Lemon
Island. We are pleased and excited to at last report that the
exhibit of 36 Lowcountry-themed photographs is now on view at the
Center, thanks to the efforts of many of our members, most notably
Hugh O'Conner, Bob Kampwirth, Corky Burt, Jim Wilson, Chuck Thomas, Tom
Lehrer, Rich de Asla and Dick Snell (too many to keep track of - our
apologies to anyone not mentioned, but you know who you are).
The exhibit will run through the end of April. Don't miss this
impressive exhibit. The Center is located on Hwy 170, about
halfway to Beaufort; take the right-side exit to the boat ramp
just before the first bridge and cross under the bridge to the Center
parking lot. (The center is closed on Mondays.) For more information,
visit their website,
